Effective Online Tutoring - Tips & Tricks

We started Global Trainers to train aspiring students, IT professionals at an affordable cost. We tried to make the platform interactive so that both trainers and students benefited from it.
For Trainers:
How to start the class:
Spend start of the class clarifying doubts on previous class & assignments then proceed with the current subjects planned to be covered.
Hand-on practice:
We encourage trainers to have good hands-on practice session with the students to have good grip on the subject/technical area.
Provide study material & notes:
After every day training provide the students with materials - preferably in PDF or PowerPoint documents
Provide necessary Information
Give assignments after each class in the announcement section.
Keep the announcement section updated
If the trainers cannot take class on a date due any unforeseen issue, please keep the announcement section updated.
For Students:
Student are advised to follow below guideline to get the most from the online tutoring.
Keep a notebook:
Try to keep a notebook handy. Note down any important point told by Trainer.
Be Interactive
Learning curve will be better if the students are good listeners and interactive in the class. Listen actively as your tutor while teaching the concepts. Try to participate and ask relevant questions to clarify your doubts. Your proactiveness in the class will encourage the tutor to come prepared with different scenarios and try to solve your queries.
Be punctual
Be on time to your online class. If possible, try to log in 5 minutes prior to the online tutoring session to make sure the internet connection is working.
Note down all your Doubts
Note down all your queries and questions at one place. All your queries in one place you can streamline your questions to Tutor to better handle and answer all your doubts
Give necessary Information
It is important to make sure that you provide maximum information to the tutor so that he/she can provide different methodologies & reference material before the session to ensure effective learning. There is an announcement section for the Tutors to give daily assignments for the class. So, students are advised to complete the assignment and
ask the doubt in the next class.
Get feedback from Trainers
it is important for you to seek constant feedback from the tutor and some homework to polish your skills and concepts better. Once your complete your homework discuss with trainer to give feedback anything can be improved.
Hand-on practice
Try to get involved in coding or technical demonstration practice. When trainer demonstrates some concepts try to do the same thing in your laptop or desktop. Ask the code snippet over chat so that same thing you can run in your m/c to practice. Try to collect the code snippets practiced in the class in chronological order.
